I did the trail Friday afternoon. The whitewater part was really fun-it only takes 15 minutes. You have to navigate through 2 locks which are tricky but once out on the Savannah it is all flat water for the next 20-25 minutes. You are out left of the outdoor theater and can paddle to the dock at the marina.

Hey Annette, It is not too long but it looks a bit scary looking at the locks from the top of the bridge, last week it was full of logs and floaters. Was there a big drop? Did you put in at the parking lot of Sacred Heart? Are there more sections of the urban canoe trail that one can paddle? If you are going again let me know.

Yea! Let me know too! I am not an experienced kayaker - I dont go alone anymore!
Again I don't see why the club doesnt schedule it for its members! What a concept huh!

I would also like to go but I'm not sure if it's still open. I think this past weekend was a teaser until the spring. If it's open, what are the open hours??

Paul, you need to LOG IN first, then you will be recognized as a member. if you just hit the "reply bottom" then you are not recognized as a member but as a guest

I had heard a little something about this but not much. The Pics were great. I would like to make this run. I'm off on different days every week and some weekends. Anyone interested in making this trip e-mail me jdixon@comcast.net. Sound and looks like fun. PS Where is the best place to get info on the water conditions?
